Solar updated news 01-05-2008
The arc of history is bending in our direction, so look ahead, these three policy aspects are still in a transition period.
1. Nevada: They still restrict solar to those who buy it. We are making progress there, but nothing further yet.
2. Wisconsin: They fixed the wording in the FRA; it now reads flat rate rent payment.
3. National Energy Bill passed: The volume was tremendous, but our goal was not quite met.
In 2008: Our three main concerns are still three policy areas.
1. Passage of tax credit extensions: When will they occur?
2. Nevada process: Nothing further yet, but still working on it.
3. Arizona, Tucson: This is the same as the Nevada problem, (Their program is only for people who purchase their solar panels, but is not for rental, or lease programs.)
The National Solar Act Bill is coming up this year, so get ready to act on it.
Hang on...we're fueling up. We're waiting till everything is perfect, and our ducks are all in a row. When we come out with the press release, it is to be bullet proof in all aspects, and no holes in the plan.

Solar Updated News 12-22-2007
1. A pilot program will soon be happening, starting somewhere in the California area, and we will soon be installing in areas with premium rates.
2. At first we will be using competitors materials and supplies to facilitate the progress in these areas.
3. the average system in the whole of the United States is equal to 41/2 Kw, but a good portion runs 7-10 Kw. Our objectives will be to reach a happy medium on your design. This will help with the net metering regulations that are now in place. Some net metering companies require that you sell your excess power back to them at a wholesale rate, and we don't want that to happen to you. (You will lose money in the long run.)
4. Our new manufacturing plant will be somewhere in the Northeast, but this will not be announced by our company for a few months.
5. It will be three or four months before our new solar calculations will be available to the public, but the cost of electric energy has already increased more than 15%, with more increases on the way. Those individuals that sign up now can still reserve their systems at 2005 rates. Click Here - to reserve yours.
6. Be prepared to notice a lot more activity in the next few months in the media, and with legislation.
7. We want to thank all of you who called, and sent letters to the Senate, and House of Representatives. Congress failed us this time around, and it didn't quite happen. Maybe sometime this coming year we will be in a better position to get this "Solar Energy Bill" legislation passed.
For Immediate Release, November 5, 2007
A young married couple in their first home, shoestring budget, baby on the way, how can they possibly afford to add solar energy to their house?
"By renting it", said Ed Begley Jr., six-times Emmy nominated actor and environmentalist.
In the November 5 episode of "Living With Ed", host Ed showcases solar in this new form. "Putting the 2 kW system on this house symbolized a 20-year dream for me, to help put solar power within reach of anyone."
The young family in Venice, CA, shows exactly why renting solar makes so much sense. Paul Eckstein & Hala Khori have just moved into their 2-bedroom bungalow. He is a writer, she is a yoga instructor and their first baby is due anytime. How is this the right time to be adding an expensive solar system to their home?
"Renting the system just makes so much sense", said Paul. "We really wanted to do the right thing, to make our new house is as green as possible. But we sure didn't have the cash to buy a system, or even to carry loan payments. This way, this company takes care of everything, they install it, fix it, all that. And our savings increase every time the rates go up".
Paul and Hala worked closely with the local system installer Stephen Gates, who designed and installed their solar system. "The family should save about 30% - on their electricity each month, for $25.00 per month," Gates explained. "Since they averaged $28 per month for that same amount of electricity, they are already saving a little each month".
"It's so great that we can actually have solar on our first house", said Hala. "By renting, we actually save money- and that's money we can save for something else. And we know we're still doing the right thing for our baby's future. That's the very best part of the story".
"I have been involved with residential solar power for over 20 years, and put my own system on in 1990. You can't make gasoline in your house, but you can make electricity on your roof - I've been doing it for 17 years," said Begley. "I've been frustrated by how many people come to me for advice on solar, only to find it is out of their financial reach. With our company’s rental program, all that changes. Anyone who wants to make clean, green power in their home can do it. With the help of this solar company, I hope we duplicate Paul and Hala's story nationwide beginning in 2008."
The Eckstein family and "Living with Ed" are showing that solar electric systems can now fit in everyone's budget.
